Facilities

PURPOSE: To bring unconditional love to adults and children in the greater Houston area.

Faithful Paws certified teams visit nonprofit organizations including schools, libraries, hospitals, senior-tiered living communities, rehabilitation facilities, hospice centers, colleges, universities, and other nonprofit organizations requesting our services.

FOR-PROFIT COMPANIES: We also visit for-profit companies and organizations that make a donation to help us continue as well as to expand our impactful work. Donations vary from $500-$3,000 and help to cover our costs for insurance, training, technological support, and marketing. To schedule a visit for your for-profit company, the first step is read the information below, apply via our portal, and then make a donation. Our Facilities Coordinator will contact you to arrange a convenient time for your visit.

ABOUT PET THERAPY AND TEAMS: Our pet therapy teams, humans and pets alike, have successfully completed a weekly, five-session training class. Dogs have earned their AKC Canine Good Citizen (CGC) title. Cats and rabbits have passed a rigorous temperament test.

Ongoing scientific research suggests that pet therapy has significant benefits, including decreases in stress, blood pressure, heart rate, pain, fatigue, anxiety, loneliness, and depression, as well as increases in a positive outlook, energy level, self-esteem, and satisfaction.

SCHEDULING: After a facility has applied, we schedule visits either weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly. Each new visit requires assembling a new team, headed by a team leader. Although we work diligently to keep up with requests, sometimes we have a backlog of requests awaiting the availability of members to form a new team.

We also schedule one-time visits. Please be aware that December and May are our busiest months for one-time visits, primarily to schools, colleges, and universities for exam time stress relief. For the most optimal results, we recommend facilities that are requesting a visit for the first time ask for a one-time visit. Weekend visits are popular with members who work full-time.

APPLY: If you have never been a Faithful Paws approved facility or you have not had visits at your facility since 2021, you will need to complete an application. After we receive your application, we will contact you to schedule your visit(s). You will be able to indicate if you are requesting a one-time or ongoing visit on the application. If you have any questions, please contact our Facilities Coordinator at [email protected].

IMPORTANT:

  1. On the application,  insert the facility name (not your name) where it says “first name”
  2. Where the application asks for “last name”,  insert N/A.
  3. The contact’s information will be entered later under “facility information”.
  4. Be sure to add a second upper management contact to ensure we are able to contact your facility should the current contact leave the facility.
  5. Be sure to update your contact information in our system as needed or every 6 months.
  6. Please reach out to us at any time.  Faithful Paws governs the people who visit on behalf of our organization.  Team Leaders do not have authority to cancel visits.  Please contact our Executive Director at [email protected] if you have concerns or major changes.
