The Benefits of Animal-Assisted Therapy

Scientific research shows that pet therapy offers many benefits, including greater feelings of calm, connection, companionship, and hope.

Our therapy pets bring positivity, energy, and a sense of community to those they visit, enhancing overall well-being and happiness. Pet therapy has even been shown to lower blood pressure and help alleviate pain.

For facilities, these benefits translate into a calmer, more peaceful environment. By hosting pet therapy visits, your facility can create a supportive and nurturing environment that improves the emotional and physical well-being of everyone involved.

How to Become a Host Facility

Tracey Brown

“Participants' faces light up in big smiles when they see the furry friends of Faithful Paws. The participants forget about dominoes and their art and friends and just smile and admire the animals present. Everything changes when the dogs arrive! When participants see another person’s pet those positive happy emotions of their current and previous experiences come rushing back.”

C. Richard Stasney

“I am very concerned about physician and nurse burn-out particularly in the Emergency Department and all the Intensive Care Units. I wanted to share Duke (my Australian Labradoodle) with the hospital staff in the high stress sections of the hospital. When Duke and I enter the emergency department in Houston Methodist, they announce "Dr. Duke is at station one" and all the nurses come as soon as they can! . Then we go to the psychiatric unit and a patient said that he was the best (and cheapest) therapy they had.”
