I joined with my previous dog, Bogie, in 2010. After we rescued Becket, we quickly realized that he also had the talent to give unconditional love & comfort to all. Having learned the emotional and physical benefits that pet therapy gives to others and the the big difference that it can give to one’s day, I knew that Becket had to become a therapy dog. I love the unexpected joy I experience by seeing the smiles and bright eyes when others are petting Becket.
Where We Visit:
Village at River Oaks and various one-time visits
Becket’s special talent is that he meets no strangers. He sits in laps or next to patients in hospital beds without any hesitation. He quickly snuggles in and is often napping while being stroked. We have to remind people that we have to “spread the love” and move on because Becket never wants to leave. He is intuitive to whatever is needed.
His other talent is that he does a handstand and pees backwards on our walks. Obviously, not a talent to share on therapy visits!
