I have always loved the idea of therapy pets and helping people. When I adopted Rurik as a kitten, I knew immediately there was something special about him. He loved people, took to the harness right away, and seemed to really enjoy going places. When we took him to the New Orleans French Quarter and he seemed to enjoy all the new sights, smells, sounds, and people, I knew he could handle being a therapy pet and thought he would probably enjoy it. He does!
Where We Visit:
Grand Living Assisted Living, Sugar Mill Elementary, and various one-time visits
Rurik goes from lap to lap in the Memory Care unit, snuggles close, and purrs, bringing comfort and great joy to residents. Rurik also amuses people with his ability to perform sit, shake, down, and stay like a dog.
