Well, there was this high maintenance little rescue dog….
After the last dog of my nine-dog pack passed away, I resisted getting another dog. For a whole month! I picked out Casey from a website. Yes, it was online dating. His foster mom brought him to my house, not for me to check him out but for them to check me out. He trotted over to my coffee table and, uh, informed both of us that this was his house. (He has developed much better manners since then!)
It quickly became obvious that he required a lot of entertainment. I figured he might as well be doing something useful while he was being entertained.
Where We Visit:
We regularly visit an elementary school and an assisted living facility. We have also done one-time visits to high schools, colleges, and Amazon warehouses.
Casey’s superpower is listening. He likes nothing more than being talked to, and he tries very very hard to understand. I tell his trainer that if only he understood English, she could just tell him what she wanted and he would do it.
